German WW2 Bayonet Troddel Knot
Infantry Regiment – Supply Company
White – Green – White
The bayonet knot, also known as a troddel knot, is a lanyard looped around the hand to prevent the bayonet from being lost if it is dropped. Although they have a practical function, the wide variety of knots used by the Germans during World War II varied widely in color pattern to signify the owner’s rank and type of unit.
The colors on this one are white-green-white, signifying infantry regiment – supply company.
This came from a very old collection, blacklight tested, it is a rare original. I guarantee this was made before or during WW2. It is unissued with the factory tie string. The knot is in mint condition.
