Child-Sized German WWII Cadet Sword
Shorter than standard issue original Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. German WWII Cadet sword. This sword may have been cut down is size after breakage or some other damage.
Features a chromed steel blade measuring 25.5 inches in length. The blade has the Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co makers mark (WK&C) on the shoulder under one langet. The blade is quite clean, see pictures for details.
Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co (WKC) has been manufacturing military swords and cutlery in Solingen, Germany- a city famous since the middle ages for its metal-working and craftsmanship in sword making. The traditional manufacturing of swords at WKC dates back to the year 1774 when the Weyersberg first registered the ”Kings head” as their trademark. Later in 1883 the company merged with the Kirschbaums and the company WKC was formed as it exists today.
The hilt measuring 4.75 inches Hilt has gilded alloy guard, backstrap, and pommel with some age staining. Fish skin grip shows some wear with tight steel triple wire binding.
The total sword length is 30.5 inches. The sword comes complete with black finished steel scabbard. Sword in scabbard measures 31.5 inches.
