This Norwegian folk art is an excellent example of Scandinavian Porcelain and an excellent gift for the collector, soon-to-be-married couple in your life, or as a vintage family heirloom.
This original Porsgrund Norway Nordic collection, also known as “The Wedding Procession,” set in Excellent condition. I am not sure the pieces have ever been used and if they have, very sparingly as their condition shows no signs of use. They have no damage, chips, or fading making this an excellent price for a full collection of these rare items.
The tea/coffee pot, creamer, sugar, saucer, and outside of the tea cup have a delightful rosemaling pattern of reddish brown, yellow, and green flowers on the outside border. The pattern is based on the rosemaling heritage of the Telemark Province, where the Portgrund factory is located.
The lunch plate and the interior rim of the teacup have the Wedding Procession with accompanying text in Norwegian.
The serving platter and two serving bowls have a more complex rosemaling floral pattern of red, blue, yellow.
All pieces bear the Porsgrund seal on the bottom (see picture for example).
