Vintage J.C. Penny 7×35 Extra Wide Angle Binoculars and Case Made in Japan

These 7X35 JC Penny Extra Wide Angle binoculars are in excellent used condition as shown. Focusing is smooth and problem free. The lenses have no scratches, and the image is clear and sharp. No Fungus or haze inside. Pristine interior. These are Wide Angle with 551ft at 1000 yards field of view, which makes for a much more steady image, when compared with the standard field of view binoculars. The eyecups are the rubber fold down type for those who wear glasses.

The case is very solid. The case’s hinge has some missing leather coating and some of the paint is scratched off the snaps, as shown. One of the lens caps is missing and one is cracked, while the other 2 are intact as shown. There is a sticker indicating this pair of binoculars passed inspection at the manufacturer in Japan.

  • Binoculars Condition: Excellent (1) – These binoculars were well taken care of. They are missing one lens cap, but other than that they are in excellent condition with no visible signs of wear to the binoculars themselves.
  • Binocular Strap Condition: Good (3) – The leather strap does show some wear where the leather coating is cracked but that could be from being folded up in the case. There is no wear on the inside of the strap, such as from being around a user’s neck.
  • Case Condition: Very Good (2) – The case is in almost excellent condition with hardly any wear except at the case hinge where leather coating is missing, some snap paint is missing, and there is some peeling of the leather away from the case. The interior of the case is clean. Some wear show at the bottom of the case where the eye lenses are held in place.
  • Case Strap Condition: Good (3) – The leather strap does show some wear where the leather coating is cracked and there is some discoloration on the interior leather, see pictures. Some of the leather appears smooth while some of it is rougher.
